    Chef Heath Cates has prepared a distinctively Okanagan flavour menu

“Inspired at a very young age by his mothers’ passion for food Chef Cates enrolled in the culinary arts Program at The Okanagan College in Kelowna. Graduating with honors, he was in search of a challenge and moved to Vancouver. He began his apprenticeship at Brix and Rain City grill, finishing his third year at C restaurant and Glowbal.   He carried on working at Glowbal Grill and Sauté Bar and after four years was the executive chef at Sanafir restaurant. He experienced a wide range of knowledge in a variety of cuisines ranging from Asian, French and Italian. He spent time with Joe Fortes and was part of the opening team for Goldfish Pacific Kitchen. His sweet tooth helped him develop the dessert menu and keen eye for elegant plates.

In 2008 he was drawn back to the Okanagan by the excitement of fresh ingredients and his family. ”

Ryan Brown – Food and Beverage Manager

ryan-webRyan joined the food and beverage team at the Harvest Golf Club in May 2006 and became the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager in August 2007.  Promoted to Food and Beverage Manager at the start of the 2010 season, Ryan brings a combination of over 13 years of experience in the food and beverage and golf industry.

Ryan first began his career taking Ski Resort Management and worked at Kokannee Springs Golf Resort during the summers.  He quickly fell in love with the golf industry and went back to college to take the Golf Club Management Program.  He carried on working in golf shops for a couple years and eventually made his way into the food and beverage industry full time.

With a passion for food, wine, golf, and superior service, Ryan looks forward to making your experience at the Harvest a memorable one.

Kevin Anderson – Sous Chef

Kevin was born in Ottawa but grew up on the West Coast where he learned to appreciate the ocean and the multi ethnic foods of the Lower Mainland.  Kevin joined the Vancouver Community College Culinary Program at a young age and learned a great respect and passion for food from some of Canada’s top chefs. He went on to do his apprenticeship at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver before moving on to the Renaissance and Hilton Metrotown hotels. In 2007 he moved to Kelowna to pursue his love of cooking locally produced foods and the pairing of good wines and joined The Harvest Golf Club in 2009.
